Finally figuring out flickr
2008 June 21
Ive had a flickr account for a while now. I go through long periods where i do not use it, occassionaly i get an email about a contact or something so i check in. Well i was just having alook and when i signed in to my account it said new comments, so i had a look and the comments were left eight days ago and i didnt get an email. I ventured of into the settings and was surprised to see lots of options i have never seen before.
Can anybody tel me what “Your blog upload email ” means? I think i can work out the others but not sure how to use this one. So as i said im finally figuring it out after having it for about 18 months.

I have just been in to have a look. It looks a bit random to me and I am not sure how it works either. But I have worked out I can put my favorite photostreams and groups etc into the new blogger sidebar list and it will tell me when new public photos are published.
It’s an email address that Flickr gives you in order to be able to upload pictures etc to your blog via Flickr by email. Before you can use that though you have to set up your Flickr account so it has access to your blog and as you have a WordPress blog it shouldn’t be a problem as it’s already configured for many blog types.
I have to say, Flickr doesn’t win any prizes where crystal clear instruction and advice is concerned.
I have an account but don’t really use it for anything lol, bit slack in that department I am, sorry.
I really should use it more …im just not that organised.8)
When you figure it out finally, tell me – I’d like to know.
I found the help page for this now

I have got my flickr account set up so I can blog photos on flickr. The only problem is that the picture is slightly to large on the blogger templates and I have to adjust the size after it is posted.
I have not tried the mobile upload and blogging though!
Thanks Cherry, ive had a look and think now that i can send pictures straight from email via flickr. Its a lot more complicated on wordpress. One if the things i miss about blogger was that i could just email straight to the blog.
You can edit your picture settings to your own modifications not just the stanard layouts.
I tried to set up the mobile blogging on my blogger yesterday and nothing seemed to happen. I need to investigate a bit further….
I might try out the flickr option too!
Cherry, Ive emailed you. Trust me you will figure it out. They try and make it as complicated as possible but it can be done lol.
